Staying warm with this WinterTea recipe

Our bodies are drying out in the winter and it is extra important this season to keep Vata in balance.

So staying warm, relaxed and not over exerting ourselves is our challenge for the next few months.

Eating more fibres, protein(if you do eat meat, eat a little bit-extra- and seeds&nuts), fat (ghee and again...nuts) and drinking hot/warm liquids.

If you do this you will notice that your skin and sinuses don't dry out and most important, because this is where it all starts, our digestive system stays moist so no hard bowel movements, bloating, air or even constipation.

 

I love this tea and sip it throughout the day and evening: 

slices of fresh ginger

piece or fresh turmeric in slices

1 star anise

3-5 cardemom pods

1 glove

few black peppercorns

fennel seeds

1 cinnamon stick (not on photo, yep even I run out of daily essentials sometimes;)

 

pour boiled water over it, cover and let it steep for 10 minutes, then strain, and keep it in a thermos flask for sipping throughout the day. Drink warm, not hot=balances Vata
